Boarding was delayed due to a virus outbreak and we were given a $15 credit per person. On board by 2pm and cabin was ready. Not really much of a problem.
Very nice sailing out of New York watching the downtown and looking at the statue of liberty.
This is our 5th Carnival cruise and have had a great experience every time. The wait staff was tremendous and called us by name on our first day before even meeting us. By the second day our drinks were waiting for us in the dining room! Cabin steward was also awesome.
We ate at the Steakhouse the first night and have to say we were underwhelmed. At $35 a person we were expecting a lot more and bigger portions. The surf and turf was tiny.
The dining room food was hot and good. We always love the deli and the Pan pizza was excellent as well as the garlic bread.
We saw a few comedians who were excellent and saw the hypnotist who was hilarious. I bought one bingo card throughout the whole cruise just prior to the hypnotist and won $500!
Port Canaveral and Nassau were beautiful. Freeport needs to be dropped as a port as it is very depressed. We went into town and it was not very nice. We will just go to the beach next time. The fact that it rained basically the whole day in Freeport didn't help.
My son went to O2 and had probably the greatest cruise of his life. He met a boatload of friends (forgive the pun) and can't wait to go again.
Debarkation was a mess for the first time of my cruises. We had to leave out of the bottom deck and were herded like cattle. We also had to wait for a few inconsiderate people who did not clear customs on time, not Carnivals fault though.
All in all this was a wonderful cruise and we will be doing it again in November on the Splendor this time.
