Anniversary Cruise

Sail Date: December 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We arrived the day before embarkation and stayed at La Quinta Inn at Cocoa Beach. It was decent and they offered 40% off parking at the port. The next morning we headed over to Port Canaveral and arrived about 10:30ish, we got checked in and they started boarding at 11 am. The ship was decorated for Christmas and is beautiful. This was our first time on Freedom and while it is a big ship and holds a lot of passengers and crew, you never feel crowded.

Our suite was nice, actually bigger than the hotel room. It is located just in front of the whirlpool. You could occassionally hear chairs being moved, but nothing disturbing.

We ate breakfast and lunch in the Windjammer. It was usually good. They always have a lot to offer, so if you get something you don't like, just go back and get something else. We had the 8 pm seating in the dining room. I had emailed the dining room to request a table by the window and we were surprised that not only was it a table buy More the window, but also a rare table for two! Again food was good, several time we couldn't choose one specific appetizer so we had two. And as always, if you don't like what you've ordered, they will bring you something else.

Activities and entertainment. Wow, always something to do or see. We caught most of the shows. Don't miss the magic show and stay for the whole thing. It seems like it's over but it's not a lot of people got up and left. Also the Ice Show is a must see. It was hard to do everything, so we'll have to make another trip.

Ports of call were all like we've read in reviews. Labadee, we were in a suite so we accessed Barefoot Beach. It was very relaxing, just floated in the water all day. Jamaica, that was our actual anniversary, we walked around the port and ventured outside the gate. It was just like we've read in other reviews. Book an excursion if you want to do something there. We did a couples massage on board. That was wonderful. In Grand Cayman we booked an excursion outside the ship to swim with the stingrays. That was fun. The last was Cozumel, we booked an excursion through the ship and it was also a lot of fun.

We had a great time, we relaxed a lot and will definitely go back with the kids next time. Less

Cabin review: Freedom of the Seas Grand Suite Deck 10 1260

We were in suite 1260. It is just before the whirlpool. We heard some noise from the solarium. It was spacious, had a huge bathroom and large balcony.

Port and Shore Excursions

Amazing Cozumel Race

(5.5)
We had so much fun doing the Amazing Race. We got to see a lot of different things that we would not have done otherwise. We'll do this one again!

It is everything that you've read. We walked outside the gates knowing what to expect. We recommend booking an excursion if you want to see Jamaica. It's still up and coming, but it's still hard to have all those people wanting you to look, buy their stuff or take their tour.

Snorkeling

(5.5)
We booked a tour through Moby Dick Tours. We had a great time. The guys are great, stingrays are awesome. The recommended Rackum's for lunch, that was great as well

We loved just relaxing and doing nothing at Labadee. We were in a suite so we had access to Barefoot Beach. We floated in the water all day. If we go again we most likely won't go in a suite, so we'll be sure to reserve a cabana.
