Regatta Cruise Review by DavidWebster: Great food and service
Overall Member Rating
Great food and service
Destination: Panama Canal & Central America
This was our first cruise with Oceania cruise line and didn't know what to expect, looking at information they sent it said Country club casual, showing men in collarded shirts and jackets, so I brought them along, well I felt over dressed, most of the men wore polo shirts and dockers and levies, some were even in shorts and tee shirts (dress tee shirts) although there were quite a few that were dressed the same as I did and a few even wore ties that were not called for.
The food was outstanding, as was the service through out the ship, all the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We ate in all the dinning rooms, the Polo Grill was our favorite, the Maine Lobster was outstanding. We liked not having assigned tables, so we could have dinner with new friends as we saw fit.
We were a bit taken back by all the wheelchairs, walkers and canes in use by the passengers, I thought we were on a Hospital ship, the youngest person we saw was about 35 or 40, the average age was More about 80, I think.
The shore trips booked through the ship were very expensive, way overpriced, but you were kind of stuck if you were late and not using their tour you could get left at the pier. Going through the Panama Canal was the big reason we took this trip.
All in all it was a good cruise, food, staff, service was superb. We do like cruising on a small ship, 680 passengers is about right, there is not a big hassle to get off and on the ship in the ports and we only had to use the small boats just once.
Would we cruise with Oceania again, yes, if they were going where we wanted to go, but we are not big cruisers. Less

Cabin review: PH38065 Penthouse Suite
We had a Penthouse Suite near the Owners Suites. Our suite was large and very nice, we dined in several times and had lots of room. We had guest for drinks several time and there was lots of room. The Butler is a nice touch, the ice bucket was always full and there was fruit in the room, we could have had canapes, but that was too close to dinner time.Read All Penthouse Suite (PH3) Reviews >>
