The Norwegian Star is a beautiful ship. It's great for the Alaskan cruise. They do a good job keeping it clean.

However, departing from the Seattle Cruise terminal is another story. The port terminal is not set up for the throngs of people trying to get on or off the boat. It's a madhouse. We had a 4 hour wait to get on the ship and there was no seating available at the terminal. NCL claimed immigration (again) was the hold up. If immigration regularly checks all passengers and staff like they did on the cruise prior, then NCL and the port terminal should take that into account and provide better facilities.

Regarding excursions, we did the Juneau helicopter/dog sled (which was well worth the expense), Skagway railroad trip (very nice), Ketchikan eagle and lighthouse tour (skip this one - too long), Victoria Pub and Ale tour (pretty good), and Seattle city highlights (pretty good). I wish we would have gone shopping in Ketchikan. Although watch out, the line is very long (1 hour wait) to get on the tender back to the boat. There was light rain and no shelter or seating.
