We enjoy cruising, especially in the Mediterranean; this was the first time we cruise on such a huge ship. We made the right decision of cruising on a Yacht Club cabin. It was so enjoyable in general with minor issues that didn't spoil our pleasure.
Embarkation: We boarded at the Valetta Malta port; this saved us a lot of hassle as not many passengers use this port for embarkation, besides the fact that we were Yacht Club passengers; this made our embarkation much faster. The only problem we faced was that the Taxi Driver took us to a different point very far from the MSC embarkation point and it took us a 30 minutes walking back and forth.
Reception: Was excellent; our Butler was so helpful in responding to our questions and directing us to our Cabin. We commend our Butler "Silvie" for her great enthusiasm and help.
Cabin: Very well furnished with everything available, except the Wi-Fi connection; as we had an IPad; we had to go to one of the public areas to have Internet at a Fee; we suppose that the least is to have the Wi-Fi connection free in all Yacht Club Cabins. We were allowed to smoke in the Cabin; No bad odors; we enjoyed smoking. Three inconveniences: The bed edge was just 60 centimeters away from the wall; walking through the Cabin was a hassle. The TV was hanged at the ceiling; you cannot watch the TV unless sleeping on the sofa. The Cabin was just below the Pool; moving the chairs was creating a lot of noise.
Restaurant: The assigned Yacht Club Restaurant "L'Olivio"was at the other side of the ship; we had to go down 5 floors, and walk all the way to the back of the ship. Although this restaurant is claimed to be an outstanding Restaurant; the food quality was not that good, so we started eating at the Top Sail Lounge and used the Room Service most of the time eating the great Pizza.
Casino: It was a nice environment, the only inconvenience was that the other passengers and kids were going through the Casino allay and near the Tables after dinner; making a lot of noise and creating uneasy feeling watching the players.
Excursions: They were generally fine and well organized.
Shops: The MSC shop is splendid, the Perfumes and Watches prices although claimed to be Duty Free were very expensive.
In summary, the cruise was generally a very pleasant experience; the minor inconveniences were abolished by the great Butler service. We might be looking for our next cruise in May 2013 at the Yacht Club; otherwise on a smaller ship.
