When friends of ours asked if we would be interested in joining them on an Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Princess Cruise Line's Grand Princess we immediately said yes! We had heard so many raves about Princess Cruise Lines, and never cruised with them before, so we looked forward to this opportunity. Unfortunately, we did not think this Cruise Line lived up to its reputation in several areas.
Although the food was very good, the choices were very limited and the same foods served over and over with very few variations. The crew, although very efficient, did not come across as friendly and welcoming, and that was the biggest surprise and disappointment of all...i have been on more than 30 cruise and no matter what else, always found the crew to be so much fun and so warm and good natured...not so here...way too many grumpy faces and cold demeanor! Our cabin steward and one waiter (on the last evening)were our only really positive encounters, and that was amazing to us!
On the positive side, the activities were plentiful and fun, and our cabin was lovely. The excursions at the ports were very well done, and off ship we had a very nice time. Nightly entertainment was only mediocre as were the Casino games. All in all, I don't think we would choose Princess again.
