We just returned from the Dec 3 cruise and had a wonderful time.
Embarkation was easy enough. We were on a hotel shuttle and were in a traffic line for about 45 minutes. Once we arrived at the port it was smooth sailing and we were aboard within 30 minutes or so.
Crew was fantastic. All that we encountered were friendly, smiling and efficient at their jobs. Our cabin attendant, Audrian, did an excellent job as did our dining room waiter and his assistant, Eutemio and Ben Ali.
Food in the dining room was good to excellent, we had no complaints. Windjammer was standard buffet food. There was always something to eat. We enjoyed Johnny Rockets for one lunch and ate too much. But it was good and different from the other lunches we had.
Entertainment was very good. The Ice Shows as always were not to be missed and the headliner shows were all very entertaining.
We really enjoyed this trip and cannot wait to book another Royal Caribbean cruise. we loved the Explorer and would love to sail aboard her again.
We did have 2 minor issues. There was some confusion because the ship was on a 10 day cruise as opposed to the previous cruise of 9 days. The compass listed formal night incorrectly for day 8 and communication to correct it to day 9 was not very good. We had scheduled a wine tasting and had to ask to find out when it was scheduled for our trip.
The other minor problem was in the MDR at breakfast. On 2 different mornings with 2 different wait teams, it took 20 minutes to receive my requested beverage, ice water. I don't drink juice and had had my coffee. I found it very annoying.
The 2 glitches did not ruin our cruise and only made us appreciate the rest of the cruise even more.
