Voyager Of The Seas

Sail Date: November 2012
Destination: Australia & New Zealand
Embarkation: Sydney (Australia)

After tossing up whether to cruise on Radiance or Voyager of the Seas we decided that it would be good to see something different so we decided to see New Zealand on Voyager.

EMBARKATION:Getting on the ship was so easy,it was suggested that we get to the port around 2.30pm as we were on deck 7. We were also advised that we would be able to drop our bags off around 10.30am to save us lugging them around all day as we had flown up from Melbourne the day before. So 10.30 we rolled up at Circular Quay, dropped our bags off and noticed that there were not too many people hanging around so we sat down and waited to see what happened. Luckily we did as the lines were opened to go along to the main building around 10.45am. Around 11-11.15am we were upstairs checking in and by 11.30 on the ship.

THE SHIP: Wow!. Walking up to it from the train station you really get a appreciation how big this ship is. Like Radiance from the moment you get on it is unbelievable. On one end of the More ship you have an amazing Dining Room then at the other end you have a showroom just as grand as the Dining Room.Between these rooms there is a more modern look.Outside there were heaps of seats for people to use and activities galore.

FOOD: We ate in the main dining room (my time dining)on 11 of the 14 nights and it was just AMAZING. Plenty of variety in the menu whether it be Starters, main or desserts. We also ate at Johnny Rockets which is well worth a visit even though there is a $4.95 charge but it is really worth it, Windjammer/Island Grill which was really good and Portofino which i enjoyed (Great Steaks) but my wife was a bit disappointed with her seafood dish.

ACTIVITIES: Plenty to do here whether it be on the full size basketball court, roller skating, cards, mini golf, bingo, information sessions with officers, ice skating,Royal Parade party's,Karaoke and much more.

ENTERTAINMENT: If you go on Voyager YOU MUST SEE the Ice Skating show. This was the best show of the cruise. The performers do a fantastic job working in an area which is not that large and the everybody loved this show. The other shows in the main showroom were good but we have seen better. One disappointing thing was that there was only 2 production shows during the 14 night cruise.

STAFF: No issues here, they were absolutely incredible. From Miguel our Room Attendant,Klein and Candy who were our waiter and assistant in the main dining room, Casino staff etc they were all fantastic.

DISEMBARKATION: This went so well. We had a 9.40am disembarkation time.We went down to our meeting point at 9.30am and were off the ship at 9.45am.

FINAL COMMENT: We had a great time on this cruise,Voyager is a fantastic ship.Is it better than Radiance?,we think they're equal. We look forward to another cruise on the high seas hopefully in the not to distant future. Less
