In November 2012 our family consisting of five members, including two grandparents, a grand aunt, a daughter in law and a 12 year old granddaughter set sail on the Allure of the Seas.
We had been passengers on the Oasis of the Seas so the Allure was familiar to us but a pleasant surprise for the other members of the family. We had lovely balcony cabins overlooking the beautiful Caribbean Sea. We always try to sail during a full moon and this trip was no exception. It is an added treat to have the beautiful moonlight during the late evening hours. All the fun attractions on the ship were enjoyed by all of us and we especially had fun at Johnny Rockets enjoying the great crew members/servers dance and sing. They were lots of fun.
The "My Time" dining was exceptional with Gordon Pereira looking after us each evening. Our waiter and assistant waiter Bonaventura Pereira and Ivon Vase made sure we were well looked after. No matter what we asked for it was never a bother. Another More
wonderful person who took care of us in the dining room was Fanny Gonzales. She is a very nice young woman who looks after her passengers.
We always ate our breakfast in the main dining room and we had some wonderful waiters. Richard Rainford, Maurice Rodney and Valentin looked after our every need. They made sure we started the day with a good breakfast and some great conversation. They made time for us.
During the cruise my sister celebrated her birthday and our waiter Maurice Rodney, who has a wonderful voice, sang to her during our breakfast. His fantastic voice was certainly a hit at the morning breakfast and I could see that many of the passengers were wishing they could have been at our table. What fun we had.
The entertainment on the Allure was top notch and certainly something you would see in Las Vegas or in New York City. We enjoyed every event.
Our granddaughter loved the ice show, the water show and also the puppet show....she could not say which show she liked the best. Blue Planet was also a remarkable show.
The ports of call were great and allowed us to spend wonderful days at the beach enjoying the sand and sea. We also had time for shopping and just a good walk in the sun.
We didn't have any problems with transportation to and from the beach and for shopping. There was always plenty of taxis. We enjoyed our day at Coki Beach while in St. Thomas. We also enjoyed a taxi tour to the airport beach while on St. Maarten and watched commercial aircraft arriving right over the beach. This is an unusual sight and well worth seeing. We had a great lunch while in St. Maarten at one of the downtown restaurants and then spent the rest of the day at the beach.
All of us rated the trip as A-1 and fantastic. We had a great crew, wonderful weather and an overall fun vacation. Less

Cabin review: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony
Our cabin was great. We love balcony cabins so we can enjoy the wonderful sunlight, the view and the fresh air. We do not like air conditioning. The evenings were wonderful with the full moon shining in the sliding balcony door. We were happy with our cabin and the layout.
When we visited Nassau we walked to Junkanoo Beach. It was not the greatest public beach but they were just recovering from Hurricane Sandy. We found a sandy spot and spent several hours swimming in the sea. It was nice.
When we arrived in St. Thomas we hired Lennox Merrifield with his lovely van and he took us to Coki Beach which was a 20 minute drive. He told us a great deal of the history of the island and also showed us some beautiful areas along the way to the beach. Once we arrived at the beach Michelle looked after us making sure we had an umbrella, beach lounges and cold drinks. She also took our lunch order and we spent a wonderful day swimming in the 82 F water and enjoying the sunshine. We visited all of the shops and met Nayda who designed some wonderful beachwear.
It was a great day.
