Thomson Celebration Red Sea Magic

Sail Date: November 2012
Destination: Middle East
Embarkation: Other

This was our first cruise with Thomsons and we were a bit wary before going as to whether or not we would enjoy a smaller ship, but all our concerns were unfounded, as we had a lovely time.
We flew from Newcastle to Sharm El Sheik and boarded the ship at about 8pm, it was a bit rushed at first as there was a lifeboat drill at 9pm, but we managed to have a quick dinner in the self service restaurant.
The sail away party had a lovely atmosphere, the temperature was still warm and sitting in November listening to the group with a cocktail in your hand, as you left the port, what more could you want.
We had an outside cabin on Deck 2, which was bigger than we expected, plenty of storage space, but you could hear the engines/generator as it sailed, but we got used to it.
We were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff throughout the ship, and the ships entertainers worked so hard and produced some excellent shows.
I enjoyed visiting the casino, it More had a relaxed feel about it, and everyone was made welcome.
We ate quite a few of our meals in the main restaurant, the food was varied and well presented, no complaints there.
The only small negative point is that there should be more sun beds, as if you are not up early they are all gone.
Overall it was a wonderful winter break on a very friendly ship. Less
