Carnival Ecstacy 2012

Sail Date: July 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

My Carnival Ecstasy Cruise review is for the no nonsense, straight with no chaser traveler.
Day 1 - Embarkation at Port Canaveral was quick, pleasant & simple. Just have your boarding pass info and photo id/passport readily available & b4 you know it you will be on-board the Lido deck having lunch & sipping something with an umbrella & fruit.

Day 2 - Nassau. AAAHHH!!! I suggest taking a $5.00 taxi & going to Paradise Island to shop & swim. We ventured to the Atlantis Hotel & spent the day in Aqua-venture. It is a 141-acre water park complete with pools, mile long lazy river, river rapids, waterfalls & access to the ocean. The price of our water park ticket included a tour of The Dig. This is an underwater aquarium of the "Lost city of Atlantis." Amazingly we watched Moray eels, various colored tropical fish, glowing jellyfish (no lie), piranhas & more. Later we toured the hotel's "Madison Avenue shops" & had a drink @ the bar while listening to live music. Truly a once in More a lifetime experience.

Day 3 - Half Moon Cay. This is Carnival's private island to experience the ocean. They shuttle you on tenders (small boats) to the island & serve you a BBQ lunch. There are activities you can pay extra for on the island like, horseback riding, snorkeling, jet-skis.
We took advantage of empty Ecstasy!Day 4 - At sea.... Take this time to take advantage of all the amenities included in your cruise package price. Karaoke, comedy shows, Newlywed game shows, Las Vegas style shows, live music, Lido deck contests, mini-golf, shuffle board, ping-pong, casino, 24hour food & drinks.
Must see and do; Serenity - adult only area featuring large padded lounge chairs, floating bartender & hot tubs. Great place to escape the kids. Waterworks - large water slide on top of ship - not just for kids anymore!

In our humble opinion, Carnival is the best vacation on land & sea. Hope this helps :) Less
