We have done quite a few cruises on various lines, this was certainly the "newest" ship we have been on.
We flew from Austin-DFW-Miami at dark thirty, arriving Miami just before noon, a quick taxi ride to the ship. On the ship in 10 minutes. Easy.
We booked an outside cabin on deck 3 since it was a short cruise. It was convenient to dining, music, entertainment, etc. Very nice room, seemed bigger, so did the L-shape bathroom with glass shower doors- even the shower seemed bigger!
The ship is just gorgeous. Lots of dining options, shopping, nice casino, plenty of places to get away from the crowds if you wanted. A lot of Travel Agents on board.
We ate in the Opus, main dining room twice and in the Tuscan steakhouse on embarkation day. The meals were good in all locations, there were always good options and we tried several main courses each night and were never disappointed. The lido deck has a lot more stations, quite a bit of variety, but I missed the Eggs Benedict station in the morning and there are no longer trays. No trays makes it a balancing act with salad, main dish, desert, drinks, etc.
The bars around the ship are varied in decor and crowd. The Martini bar was very cool, literally, with frost on the counters. It always had a crowd. There was live music at several of the venues rotation around the ship. Enjoyed Elite drinks nightly at the club on deck 14 from 5-7pm.
Service at food venues was good. Our cabin service was a bit odd. We never had ice, never received the end of cruise bill but always got extra towels or pillows if asked. I see 3 charges on my credit card at home, $.64, $19.00 and other amount-??????
Entertainment- fairly standard, Main Theatre- dancers and singers, comedian, guitarist, string quartet, pop band, we enjoyed a variety of entertainment.
Port & Shore Excursions- haha; told the first night out there was an issue with no berth for our port of Nassau, Bahamas, so we steamed around all day. We never got the full story on that one. Told we would enter 6pm-12pm, but weather on the way in prevented that, so only stop was the next day in CocoCay.
Disembarkation- piece of cake; breakfast, off at 8:10am, no lines, no confusion
Beautiful ship, lots of variety; definitely go on this class again.
I did not tender off the ship in CocoCay; so basically a cruise to nowhere. Short but very enjoyable. Would we do it again, you bet !!
