Whilst not critical of the Captain and crew on this Crown Princess Cruise Ship who were all excellent. I am critical of the Princess Cruise Line for scheduling a complete deck replacement of deck 15 Lido Deck for the whole cruise trip from embarkation in Rome to when we disembarked 12 days later in Venice.
From day one all passengers had to endure continuous deck replacement with workers sawing, chiseling and sanding this deck with debris being continually being blown across the whole deck and even into the cabin hallways. The deck became almost unusable for passengers even though the maintenance workers tried to limit the extent of the blown around debris by wetting down the deck area, it became almost impossible because of the high winds across the ship.
I am concerned that this Cruise Line can think that this is an acceptable condition for Cruise passengers to accept as part of their Princess cruise experience. If Princess Cruises had known that maintenance was scheduled for this Cruise at this time, It should have pre-warned intending passengers booking on this cruise of the maintenance schedule giving them the option of opting out.
Will we be taking another Princess Cruise? Only if we want another Dry Dock experience!
