Sailed from New Orleans on Nov 25th. Down side was the late departure. We did not leave port until after dark . For those of us wishing to view the Great Mississippi River, well, that was a negative. First day at sea the weather was wonderful. Lots of lounging around the pool, and people watching. The ship overhaul was obvious on the Lido deck ,Guys Burgers is awesome.
Second day at sea the weather was not so obliging. It rained off and on most of the day. The crew moved the pool games indoors on deck 3. There was pleanty to do if you were informed . Luckily the main theatre had three shows to see. The two new ones were the best. Brits , and also Divas were great!. We arrived at Hondouras on time. There was no delay going ashore as another passenger suggested in his review. We had an excursion planned thru Carnival. It was ziplining and beach break. The ziplining was fun! although scarey since the rain made it impossible to slow down .. Warning! if your thinking of this in the rain.
We then went to Tabyana Beach.. Awesome beach! We were able to stay and take the late shuttle back to the ship. I highly recommend Tabyana Beach break to anyone looking for a good beach in Roatan . Next stop Belize. If you do the barrier reef snorkel and beach break. The snorkeling was great! The reef is alive and there are tons of beautiful fish. The beach break time is one hour.. Only one hour, then they tell you lets go.. No extra time! That was a negative to this excursion.
The sun peeked through the sky just as our hour was up. Back on the ship.
The food was good! We ate at the main dining room every night..I have to brag on the soups.. Wow! they were awesome! Desserts also. Some entrees better than others, but overall.. Great experience! We only ate in the Cezanne a few times at lunch or breakfast. It was good. Not great. The dining rooms food is superior to it and Guys Burgers, lets just say I wish we could bring this restaurant home with us. Cozumel was the last stop.. As usual Cozumel rocked! Sunny, Hot, and great. If you snorkel from shore , the fish are plentiful. We did not do an excursion but had a wonderful time exploring on our own.
As for the ship.
Okay. it is showing a bit of its age. The staff were friendly, informed, and helpful. The singing waiters in the dining hall were entertaining. The new comedy shows were good. Comedians were scheduled well after midnight. Even when the main theatre shows were done for the night, there were several late night things to do. I think as a cruiser its our responsibility to be informed and to engage in activities . Not just show up and say.. Hey.. Entertain me! Being an active participant ensures a good time.. Overall! a good time !!
