Ship Facts: Ryndam Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Ryndam Deck Plans
We live in Florida and decided to take a cruise out of Tampa on the Ryndam. Our first time and last time. We have been on other cruise lines so we know what we are comparing everything to.

No real activities - I don't know what the cruise director does - certainly not develop activities - only sitting on lounge chairs and reading books! Cooking classes showing you how to garnish your cocktails. Like no one knows that!

The buffet food is horrible - they have Philippine and Korean day, really on a caribbean cruise. While the food in the main dining room was good - the staff make you wait almost 30 minutes just for an appetizer - our meals were 2 to 2 1/2 hrs long and we felt bad taking that long seeing people waiting in long lines to get in. Twice after eating we had distress and missed what little entertainment they had. Room service was a joke, we ordered 2 hamburgers and a club sandwich and got 3 cheeseburgers. While the guy came back with the club sandwich and took one of the hamburgers, the one hamburger was completely raw inside and they took the bread on a press did not toast it. We were very disappointed that we couldn't eat room service either.

The staff are not friendly at all and believe in talking more to each other than doing their job. Our room was not cleaned until 5 pm one day after we left it at 8am for the day. When you go to the front desk to complain - they have a philippine woman who is the worst at customer service. No apologies just arrogance!

If you go to the mix or martini bar good luck in finding the bartender - more than I care to mention sitting at the bar waiting to get a drink no one to be found - behind doors chit chatting. Their staff does not care about the customer at all. What is that saying the dog wags the tail but at Holland America - the tail (workers) wag the dog (Holland America) Does Holland America (Carnival owned) ever wonder why they don't take in revenue for drinks?? We met a lot of couples that have been 3 and 4 star mariners telling us they will never come again to Holland America.

We came home today and still are having intestinal problems from this cruise. Do yourself a favor and heed my warning - stay clear of this ship, Ryndam and its crew or you will be writing a horrible review too and feel totally ripped off!
