Ship Facts: Carnival Magic Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Magic Deck Plans
Tarnished Magic
Cruising is our favorite way to vacation. We have had great experiences in the past, and this last trip was a bit disappointing. This was our second Carnival Cruise. The layout of the ship is weird. The dining room is on two levels and you have to go up one deck or down one deck to access from certain elevator locations. The food in the main dining room for the early seating was very disappointing. Very bland and many selections were just plain nasty. The beef stroganoff was inedible, and many other entrees were just bland and tasteless. Service was excellent however and very attentive and deserve 5 stars. The buffet was very good the times we visited. I will say that the Punchliner Brunch on seas days was excellent and we really enjoyed this unique idea.

Our cabin was fine and the steward great. The ship was very clean and well maintained. Again, all staff members were excellent and attentive. We did not use a lot of the ships features such as the water slides or the spa but other passengers told us they were great. The entertainment was okay, nothing unique but enjoyable for the most part.

We will cruise out of Galveston again as we live in Texas and are looking forward to other cruise lines coming to Texas. We will cruise Carnival again as overall for the price it was a fantastic value.
