We had this recommended as was out of Tampa and "good" for kids. First time on Carnival and likely to be the last time on this line.
Service in dining room decent but otherwise not so good. Food was marginal and often served lukewarm. Thanksgiving turkey dinner was nothing as might be expected and not good. Food service hours limited with only pizza available overnight. Also limited some hours during day if miss their meal time cutoff. Can be problem with kids as lunch opens at noon and dinner at 6 so if want to eat early only get hot dogs, burgers or pizza.
Kid club supervison seemed unorganized and so so. Hard to understand one of the teen ones due to accent. Our kids at 8 and 10 did not like the kid club activity and only attended one session. Our 12 year old did attend some of Circle C activity but they are allowed to come and go as they please at that age (and at 8-10 if parents say ok) so be sure you set up guidelines for your kids. Kids roam at night, esp teens, so need to keep eye on yours if bit younger or if you care what they do.
One family member had room above photo lab and they slammed the door till 3 am--after we finally pointed out exact problem they propped door open for all but last night and gave them a small credit which does not make up for no sleep. Room safe in one room and door lock and TV in another needed fixing. Old TV's vs flat screen in some of our rooms.
Was told twice on phone that could bring a cashiers check for room accounts and then they would not accept it. Said everyday would "let me know if office approved". No final answer ever given but luckily I had credit card with lots of charge room on it. Be sure you do have plenty of credit as they put pending transactions on your card all week---and on last night. If you charge something on last night then that is charge they post on final day but the pending transaction does not match so it stays for 3-5 days with most credit companies. One couple we met then had problem at airport as did not have enough credit left to pay for their lunch.
Picture packages are ridiculously expensive---ours were poorly edited and badly lit yet the cheapest was 499$ which was only 10 pictures and no CD. The packages go up to 4000$k--and they do not let you see prices before pictures taken for around the ship ones. Many people we talked to were very disappointed in costs for this.
Running track very small. Almost impossible to walk whole promenade deck as always some repair going on on part of it.
Employees often late to activities and spent more time talking to each other than greeting/helping guests. Our main dining room staff was good but otherwise marginal service. Guitar player in the atrium lounge could not carry a tune but sang loudly.
Tampa port now has 3 ships sailing on same days and parking and traffic are poorly handled. Some people with paid parking reservations were told to go elsewhere and call office for refund. Makes getting on and off ship more of hassle than usual.
In general I do not think the service or food are good on this ship. I believe this is more of a singles party cruise than family cruise.
