Great Thanksgiving Family Cruise!
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Embarkation: piece of cake, checkedout of hotel at 10:30 on board by 11:30, no lines for C & A members.
Ports: labadee- Nice with the dock now, ziplining a little overpriced for 15 second ride. great relaxing beach day, but not very sunny.
Falmouth-Stayed on ship and enjoyed the pool, been to Jamaica many times
Food: Windjammer goodto very good nice variety of Asian, Indian and German food also, slow to clean tables.
Chops: Excellent food, somewhat marginal service, waiter always in a hurry and talking to us as he was running around.
Main Dining Room-Very good Thanksgiving turkey dinner and Lobster night 2 tails each. Although we only ate there last 2 nights we all agreed service could have been the best of any cruise. Even Headwiter we cleaning tables and delevering food. Stopped by our tabel both nights. Been on cruises where we haven't seen the More HW.
Johnny Rockets: Excellent food and great service, had a bad experience on Oasis but this was a winner. Server kept up on fries and rings and got special orders exactly right! I even added 20% tip to bill. Used our 2 for 1 shake coupons. Yum!
Promenade Cafe: Our favorite for croissant sands and Double Expresso chocolate brownies.
Gym; Somewhat smaller and could use updated machines but adequate, daughter and I went every AM.
Casino: Small and blackjack tables sometimes very crowded bt played mostly $ 5 single deck and managed to win $ 200.00 and my son won $ 700.00 Wife didn't do so well on slots but we did see MANY multi-thousand jackpots. Won a little at Roulettte also.
Cabins: We had 2 second deck oceanview cabins, nice and adequate for the deal I got. Cabin attendant did her job but ZERO personality and we had a few issues with bathroom cleanliness.
Entertainment: Overall Very good to excellent especially the LOTS band.
Comedian: Very Good, I had to watch again on the in-cabin TV......8 1/2 out of 10
IceShow; Good, expecially the Russian juggler..........8 out of 10
Husband and wife jugglers: So-SO, mildly entertaining and somewhat funny.... 6 out of 10
Up in the Air-Very slow start but got much better........ 7 out of 10
Finis Henderson-Musical Impersonator-FANTASTIC, what a surprise! Energetic, funny, talented, played to the audience A MUST SEE ..... 10 out of 10
Saturday Night Fever: Broadway quality show, excellent, great singing and dancing, props and sets. Looking forward to seeing it again in Jan.....10 out of 10
DeEmbarkation: Horrible! We had to carry off bags to get off early for 10:20 flight. Everyone met in Ice Studio on 3rd Deck then had to carry BIG,HEAVY bagsdown 2 flights of stairs to Deck 1 to get off, very difficult for wife and daughter. Saw a woman with 3 bags, a child, stroller and carseat, don't know how she managed, on other ships lefton deck 4 via the ramp so bags rolled off. Not sure what they were thinking.
Overall another great cruise on RCCL. Cant wait to be on Liberty again in January with Diamond status. Less
