Celebration cruise review.
The Celebration Bahamas ship is 30 years old, made in Germany. It is old small ship with very small state rooms. There was not enough storage space, only one electric outlet for 220 V by the bed, no outlet in the bathroom. The bed was small, the mattress old and quite used. The air condition thermostat did not work: very cold in our room, but hot in the other rooms, as per other passengers. They gave out a hair drier on request, no voltage converters.
The ship was shaky all the way, many passengers got sea sick including myself. The food was OK, but assortment very limited. An entertainment was chip and primitive. The only decent was a dinner in the Crystal Room restaurant.
We stayed in the Viva Wyndham resort. Taxi is expensive. They charge you a fortune to get to the hotel. And then you stuck there being without a car. To get to the market place you have to get a taxi for $30 round trip for 7 minutes drive!
The resort is old. A check in time was 3 pm. We arrived at about 9.30 am, but got to the room around 4 pm because it was not ready! It was more or less clean, but no shower gel in the dispenser in the shower. A coffee maker was designed for a large coffee packets, but there were only small packets of instant coffee which we could not use. The air condition was very noisy.
The beach was not clean. They have a mattresses for the beach furniture only for VIP guests. The pool and whirlpool were fine. There was no decent night entertainment.
Overall the resort did not correlate with the name "Wyndham"!
The Celebration tries to sell you the most expensive package claiming the cheaper packages are sold out. But it was not true! The ship was not overcrowded. The 4day package we payed for was $ 1000 for two of us. The price absolutely did not correspond to the accommodations and service they provided! It was lost money and the valuable vacation time!
We definitely do not recommend to use this company and resorts they offer for so much deserved vacation!!
