We are both over 65 and have cruised several times
After a 3 hour drive from Carinthia in Austria we arrived in Venice, checked the baggage, parked the car and boarded quickly and smoothly
The port and boarding staff were all extremely friendly - Royal Caribbean deserve credit for the competent organisation
After a quick snack in the Windjammer, we toured the ship and immediately noticed the benefits of the refit
Some of the busy design and color combinations clash rather badly, something that could have been avoided with a bit of care
Our Stateroom was clean and ready on time and was well cared for by the ever present friendly cabin staff
We used most of the public areas, in particular the Library, Solarium and the Gym
The Windjammer was where we took breakfast and the choice was always more than ample, for dinner, My Time dining in the King And I
The food was good and never had a problem finding a suitable selection
Listening to almost all our fellow cruisers they seemed to find sufficient activities to have fun
The Theatre productions were sadly not up to the usual Royal Caribbean standards, but the entertainment around the ship was very lively
Whether or not you took the ship's tours there was always advice and help offered by the excursions or information desks
We did the ship's tour on Santorini, otherwise we did our own thing
Bari was not ideal stop, in Italy on Sundays there is not a lot to do in the towns as almost everything is closed
The other ports Corfu, Kusadsi, Santorini and Katakolon all have their specific interests and are well catered for by the ship's excursion desk
One needs to do your homework beforehand to decide what the ports have to offer and how one wishes to explore them
To avoid any unpleasant surprises it is recommended to take tours in non EU countries or places where one is not accustomed to the culture
Again getting on and off the ship in all the ports was well organised and without incident
Leaving the ship was also properly handled and a priority departure was made available for anyone requiring to disembark early
This was a relaxing cruise and except for what appeared to be slightly stressed out staff in some areas it could not be seriously faulted
To please around 2000 passengers 24 hours a day is no easy job
