This was a quick two-day Thanksgiving weekend cruise, which was the Breeze's inaugural sailing out of Miami. Our Ocean Suite was comfortable although the jacuzzi in the bathroom did not work and they did not fix it. Otherwise the cabin service was fine.
The food was very good in the Lido deck areas and excellent in the Italian restaurant and the Steakhouse. Well worth the surcharge.
We also enjoyed the entertainment; a superb 5-piece band with a female vocalist who were excellent and a very funny comedian.
The design of this new ship is less impressive to us. Moving about the ship feels very congested. Rather than a wide promenade deck with marble floors, the Breeze has what feels like narrow walk-ways with cheap-looking yellow/brown ceramic tile. The buffet dining area on the Lido deck is very cramped and long lines were the norm. The restaurants and bars are not open long enough and service in this area was sometimes very poor.
We had planned to do a longer 8-day cruise on the Breeze but this experience convinced us otherwise. We are opting for Holland American next. As for Carnival we really prefer the Freedom or the Splendor over the Breeze.
