started out from atlanta direct to rome using frequect flyer miles..non stop upgraded to comfort seats..worht it,more leg room!
booked a great hotel as we always arrive a day early..thru priceline..hotel dei borgognoni.4 star nice hotel close to trevi fountain, happy with that.
shared a van with about 10 peeps from cruise critic..very cool, saved money.afraid to take the train..10 euros, but we had lots of luggage.
once we got to the ship,on in no time, they have that down! ship was beautiful and classy.id say this is more for adults than say RC.
we were interested in the ports and didnt care about entertainment.
had balcony concierge room, kinda small as we usually get a suite.not complaining but..having to get up on the bed to stow our stuff over the bed was kinda stupid as alot of folks are older and im sure not as good at climbing as we are..even at advanced age in our 50s!
i did the premium coffee package and loved it..got my money out of it,but had i not gotten it,i would not have had as much cooffee and premium water.also includes fresh juice and any water or soda or frozen drink and fruit smoothies..was a good luxury for me! if you get a suite on other cruises or on celebrity the premium coffee is included..
we booked pre cruise premium dining for sea days and murano was fabulous!!! dont miss it!!!
we ate in our room the rest of the time ordering from dining room menu.not sure if everyone can get that extensive menu? usually for suites but i asked and got it.
was supposed to be non smoking ship but man next door asked if he could smike, hubby said ok and smoke he did constantly..annoying ,but my hubby smoked cigars at night so i couldnt complain!!outside btw!
no complaining about the food, was good,we even had breakfast delivered! our cabin lad was fabulous!!!we ate on the balcony.
ports were fabulous.we hooked up with cruise critic peeps to share tours was really great to meet such well traveled and cool people! ill do that again for sure.tours were 40 to 60 euro for the same as ships 150 euro! in greece islands we took public buses and got to the same places as ship people but for a buck! was so much fun to find our way around but it wasnt hard anyway and met like minded folks.we had rick steves cruise port book 2012..a must have!! saved us tons of money on what to do at ports and in the back not getting ripped off! ie cab in rome trying to over charge to airport.then at the airport telling us we owe 70 euros for being over in our bags.we weighed them again and we were right!!
been on several cruises, but id have to say, this ship was really wonderful.fresh smoothies and healthy food if you went to aqua area for breakfast.fab coffee drinks when wed chill getting back on the ship with other folks.clean ship great staff, great value.
people complaining about being nickeled and dimed..well thats cause you are paying ala carte! if you want all the special stuff hop on the 20000$ cruise, but for my money this was a bargain!!!!
do not listen to people who said do without a port..they were all great!
