Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
Old ship with a huge heart
I have to admit I was nervous sailing this smaller older ship than my previous Navigator cruise 45 days earlier. But, we wanted a quick inexpensive get away before our Canadian winter began. Embarkation was very fast and efficient, and we arrived on board at 100pm and could go right to our stateroom.

Yes the outside stateroom was very small, but I was prepared... we had a GS on Navigator so I had my expectations in check. Yes, this ship is old, but our room was extremely clean and well maintained. As well bedding was new and comfortable. Location however was horrible, we were directly under the jogging track and every morning at 500am a very energetic quest would start their morning jog. I called and complained at 515am once we figured what the noise was, 15 min later the noise stopped. I was called back by guest services to tell me this was addressed. But, again 500am sharp the next 3 days the jogger returned. This was the only time in my past 12 cruises we have ever had a problem with noise.

We enjoyed the shows, attended all events and attended 830pm seating - service and food quality was excellent.

I truly believe that every ship has its own personality based on size and crew, my husband and I agreed this was an old ship with a big heart. Everyone tried so hard to make it memorable, we especially liked Mitch the cruise director, he did a great job!
