Oasis of the Seas was Grand!

Sail Date: November 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation and Disembarking was the quickest we have ever experienced. We opted for the early disembark because we had a 10:30 flight out of FLL. Only thing was we had to carry our own luggage but we were at the airport by 8:00AM. We took a taxi to/from the airport and with tips it was $20.00 each way.

Shows - As previously reviews have indicated, these were the best shows we've seen on a cruise. We made all reservations before the cruise and that worked great. We saw Hairspray, Headliner show, Comedy show, Ice show and the Water Diving show.
Room - we had a balcony room which we loved. Knowing about the outlet location, I brought a small extension cord that worked well. Plenty of spaces behind closet doors for the 2 of us and our suitcases fit under the bed. We were in room 7158 which is in the forward part of the ship. I would recommend a room mid-ship closer to a lot of things - MDR, Windjammer, Broadway, etc. We did a lot of walking!!

Dining - We ate all More dinners except one in the MDR at the 6:00 time. We had very good meals and excellent service. The one other meal was at Chops where we had the 10oz fillet that you could cut with a fork. Ate at Johnny Rockets for breakfast which I recommend and we had lunch there which was a good show.

Pools - we spent a lot of time at the beach pool. Yes, they did try to get you to try drink specials but no more than any other ship we've been on.

Rising Tide bar was stuck at Low tide. It was broken and they kept everyone off it until Thursday but it never moved - a dissapointment!

Overall it was an amazing ship which is hard to describe if you have not experienced it. Would we go on it again? I don't think so, it was just too big. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

In St. Maarten we booked our own excursion with Capt. Bob. He runs a 36 foot ocean racer that holds 12 people and took us for a fabulous tour around the Island. We saw parts of St. Maarten that can only be seen by a private boat. If we ever get back to St. Maarten we will do this again!!!
