We started off this cruise on the right foot. Then hurricane Sandy hit. We had to move to get away from her and had to stay away so missed ports and hit other ports to avoid her. We dealt with that ok, as we know our captain will do anything in his power to protect us and we feel he did a great job but had to make some very disappointing decisions and some people were not happy. We have learned to go with the flow at least we are safe.
We had the same 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite we always get so totally loved that. Our room steward was another problem. Garfield started off meeting us telling us he was getting off the next day(10/27/12). Then the next day(10/28) he said tomorrow then the next day (10/29) he said the end of the month(10/31). By that time he was no longer cleaning our suite or stocking it. We finally said something to our Butler and she took it too the bosses and we got a new room steward Cecil. He started out good but then we realized he was afraid of More his own shadow and we were afraid to ask him anything as he got so scared it scared us. He forgot to put little shampoos, conditioners, body wash and even wash cloths in either of the bathrooms. Also we ran out of Kleenex and finally after 2 days with none he must of felt guilty and put a new box in the wall where it goes and also left us a new box on our counter for the rest of the cruise(now we don't have much space anyway so this just took up more of it). Asked for days for our plastic windows on the deck to be cleaned once we made it out of the storm Sandy. Everyone including Gusty kept telling us it was the room stewards responsibility to wash those windows. Once they finally got Cecil to try to clean it it was done slopply but was better than before.
We are people who love to eat and experience all the restaurants on board. We ate at La Cucina(Italian), Cagney's(Steak house), Bamboo(Chinese), La Bistro(French), Moderno(meat on the spit) these are the pay restaurants on board. We also ate at the main dinning rooms Venetian and Aqua. Aqua we did not care for at all but Venetian was wonderful. We ate lunch at the Blue Lagoon and it was always nice and quick. We tried the buffet and I do not like cold food and everything I tried was cold so we decided not to go back there again. Mom and aunt went for lunch a day or two but we(my husband and I) did not go back except for ice cream and the chocolate bar. We ate room service a few times and it was always good except the new $5.00 pizza is so big we had to throw half of it out each time.
Virginia our Concierge was very good and Flor our Butler was excellent.
All in all it was a very good cruise but from what we understand people were upset regarding no info on ports given out and not enough dancing available. We attribute the port info being less cared about since this is a re-positioning cruise that they only do twice a year. I am not sure about the dancing this is just something that someone was complaining about. There again they did not like the food at all which we could not agree with. Less

Cabin review: Norwegian Dawn 11520
Cabin is great as usual. Took about 5 days to get them to clean the deck plastic windows so we could see out of them. We didn't start asking until we knew all the storms were done. Above you is a lot of moving of carts or chairs so at times it gets a little noisy.
