We just got back from our ten day Mediterranean cruise and it was fabulous.
The Jade was lovely and much like its sister ship Gem...nice layout and a nice spreading out of all the people onboard.
GREAT food and amazing quality at the buffets with a nice international flair.
The specialty restaurants we tried, Papa's and Le Bistro and Cagneys were all quite good with excellent service and a nice ambience, worth the extra cover charges we felt but having said that, the 'free' food is really good at both the two dining rooms and also the buffets.
We've cruised many times with NCL and the whole freestyle thing is why they get our business, so easy to eat when you want and not to have an assigned time or table. Plenty of opportunities abound to meet others if you wish so it works for both social and asocial folk.
ELEMENTS was an excellent show so don't miss it, the last night at sea.
We only did a few other shows and they were all very good so if you don't have the opportunity to see shows you should make the attempt.
Happy hour at the bar was a nice drink price reprieve and you meet other folk there too!
Regarding our balcony room, excellent size and our steward Clark kept it clean and anticipated our needs (glasses for wine/port) and kept us happy.
Completely happy with our cruise and hope NCL adds Egypt back to their itinerary because it was completely safe and they need our tourist money. We found them to be very pro-America and for Cairo, a city of 20 million, there will be some troublemakers but it isn't the way the country feels (every country has its nuts and haters) and we shouldn't be scared to travel there. The Pyramids and Sphinx alone are worth the trip, an amazing and only remaining ancient wonder of the world, not to be missed.
