Celebrity Eclipse met our expectations

Sail Date: October 2012
Destination: Transatlantic
Embarkation: Southampton

This was our first cruise on Celebrity, recommended by a family member who cruised with them and Aqua class. We were not disappointed. We at in the Blu dining room few times and the main dining room once. Food was good but sometimes service was slow. We enjoyed the buffet as we don't like to be too scheduled.
The drink package worked well but we are not sure we took full advantage of it.
There were some problems with the WIFI but that was because of the hurricane Sandy in NY while we were at sea. They were very good about refunding some of the packages. Entertainment was very good for the most part. WE really enjoyed the smoke free casino.
There was never a lack of places to sit either in the solarium or the main pool. plenty of activities if you wanted to participate. I really enjoyed the classes at the gym and Zumba with Miggy Mendoza was a wonderful treat. He was awesome, Kudos to Celebrity for having him on board.
Full Tilt the Acapella group was More very good, really enjoyed them and the Eclipse show cast.
the weather was as we expected, cool in the beginning but a few days out we were in bathing suits. would be nice to have a bargain laundry day when you are traveling so many days.
The ports, Le Havre ( Paris), Cherbourg ( Normandy) and Azores were wonderful .
We already have another cruise booked on Celebrity to Hawaii in April. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Eclipse 1537

Eclipse cabin 1537 bed near balcony. great location even though across from crew space, we were not bothered by any noise. close to stairs and elevators. Nice balcony furniture. Storage could be better, space over the bed is hard to access for vertically challenged people.

Port and Shore Excursions

long bus ride but we knew that. The city was beautiful and we stopped at a few places. Hard to see it all in a day and on a bus you have limited access to areas but a beautiful , well narrated tour. The quality of the tour guide you get really makes a different. Ours was very energetic.
