The boarding process was fast, I think we were about the first to show up. Rooms were ready by 1:00. The ship is only 2 years old and is a beauty. The cabin is typical, but has a nice flat screen TV with Apple software. Celebrity must have a business relationship with Apple, since the computer room has only Apple products, and Apples for sale on the ship. The only bad (terrible) issue on the ship is the computer network. I felt sorry for the IT staff, since they were understaffed and there were many problems getting onto the network. One day there were over 30 people in line to get help logging on. The hardware simply can't handle the load, and most of the time I could not get connected. Computer connectivity is a problem on most ships we've sailed on but never seen anything as bad as this, and the ship is only 2 years old. The staff was extremely friendly and well trained. The food was excellent all around. The cafeteria layout was well laid out and resulted in few lines. They have done away with trays, but large plates are available, so it was not a problem. The weather was fantastic every day, with calm seas. We had never been on a transatlantic before, so we were pleasantly surprised. We disembarked early, but understood that there were long lines later on. There were only two customs agents for US citizens, and one liked to chat. The fitness center was fantastic, with latest LifeFitness equipment. Staff was always available as well as towels, etc. Essentially no waits for the treadmills, etc. My wife went to the spa several times and, although expensive, she said the treatments were terrific. The specialty dining restaurants did not appear to be busy, and we were approached to go to the Tuscan restaurant for a 30% discount. Excellent food. There were many enrichment programs, but we did not partake. All in all, a great trip. Celebrity is still our favorite, and the Eclipse is beautiful.

Port and Shore Excursions

We stayed at the Premier Inn West Quay - very nice, good food. Would have like to have spent more time in Southampton.
