This was a short 2 Night Cruise to Nowhere that was available due to the full week cruise being cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.
We had 3 cabins, which all had the exact same problems. The in-cabin phones were down the whole cruise, making it hard to report the following other issues. On day 1 and 3, the toilets were down for 15-20 minutes. On day 2, the toilets were down for about 3 hours. The whole hallway stunk because people were using the toilets without realizing they could not flush. Also on day 2, as we woke up, the water was unavailable for several hours. Therefore we couldn't take showers or wash-up.
Reporting these issues to on-board customer service staff resulted in a "were sorry, but you will have to live with it attitude". We had better luck with calling Carnival after the cruise to report the problems.
The food on the Carnival Pride is comparable to what you would find at a Golden Corral Buffet. The food in the main dining hall is slightly better, but not much. The steak house is amazing, on par with 4 or 5 star restaurants.
Camp Carnival was similar to a typical daycare. Not bad, but nowhere near the offerings by Disney or Carnival.
All that being said, you can not beat the price of sailing on Carnival Pride. It is a great value, especially if you live in Maryland. For that reason, I will definately book again.
As a side note, the last time I was on the Carnival, it almost capsized (literally). At least they keep it interesting!
