Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
Fun Experience
This was my first time out of Port Canaveral and it went pretty smooth. The ship was decorated for Halloween and done very well. I was more than shocked when we saw our room which is the smallest I have ever been in on a ship. My big dissappointment was no safe. This meant we had to carry around everything that we did not want to leave in the room and it was really a big nusiance. I also needed a refrig for my diabetic supplies and once that was in, there was absolutely no space left at all. The closets were tiny and all I can say about the shower is "do not drop anything". The bed was a killer on my back and I was ready to get off the ship after four nights of tossing and turning from the cardboard mattress on my old bones. I could have used a tub of bengay and at least five bottles of Old Grand Dad (don't drink but what the heck) to help with the pain. Maybe medical marijuana is in my future :)

The food was exceptionally good and we enjoyed every meal. Our biggest complaint was the entertainment. It was really really bad. The age group of the cruisers was not compatible with the music. Most of us were 40 yrs and up and were not into Madonna, Lady GAGA, etc. The two male singers made my teeth hurt when they sang. They really need to rethink the shows and hire better singers.

We never left the ship when we ported in Nassau so I cannot give a revue. CoCo Cay was ok except the water was freezing which was the aftermath of Sandy. I love the beach so not being able to go into the water (we over 65 need bath water temperature or we can have a stroke) was a bummer. The food was ok and the tenders were big and more than sufficient for the ship. Our debarking went very well and although we did have some delays (Customs - what else) we did have a bit of a wait.

All in all, my big sister and I had a good time. At our ages, waking up is considered having a good time. We are looking forward to our next adventure. Just two more things on my bucket list (ride a motor scooter and visit Graceland) and my life will be complete. GOD bless you all and enjoy!!!
