Another Excellent Carnival Cruise

Sail Date: October 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

My husband and I completed a wonderful Western Caribbean cruise on Carnival Liberty. This was our 5th cruise with Carnival, and as usual, we had a terrific time and Carnival met all our expectations for a fun and safe cruise.

Embarkation was extremely efficient and we were on board by 11:30 a.m. You now have an option to get your sign and sail card at the Miami Airport at a new Carnival check-in counter, which fast tracked you to get on board very quickly. That's the fastest we've ever boarded any cruise ship.

The Liberty is a lovely ship and has been refurbished. The deck chairs are all new and we noticed a marked change in the interior of the ship, as well as the addition of new restaurants, compared to our Liberty cruise last October.

I don't know why passengers would ever complain about the food. Perhaps they are uncomfortable with anything more elaborate than a head of lettuce! The food presentation and preparation were excellent and we enjoyed the More most sumptuous meals at dinner in the main dining room. We had breakfast and lunch at the Lido buffet and always found something delectable to eat. We loved the Mongolian food station and it was worth waiting a few minutes for a delicious meal of fresh veggies, noodles, shrimp, beef or chicken, cooked to our specifications in a Wok.

The desserts were amazing, varied and most delicious. You could have decadent pastries, cakes and pies or fresh fruit. The ice cream and frozen yogurt machines were also a big draw. We didn't feel the need to eat at a specialty restaurant as there was so much to choose from in the main dining room. The dining room is just gorgeous and the service by the attentive and friendly staff perfect and extremely professional. We had dinner at around 6:00 p.m. and always found a table of two by the window, so we could admire the view of the sea while we enjoyed the wonderfully delicious courses.

We saw a couple of shows and especially enjoyed Around the World, which was a spectacular display of the most beautiful period costumes and stage sets. The dancers and singers were extremely talented and enthusiastic and the show was interspersed with lots of special effects.

The late night comedians were also excellent and not to be missed.

We saw a wonderfully funny show in the theatre and were entertained by a most talented combination juggler/comedian.

There were activities all day long on board and there was no excuse not to be totally entertained all day. You could spend the day on the exciting pool deck, or find a quiet deck on which to snooze or read.

The gym was state of the art with lots of cardio and weight equipment, and the spa area extremely clean and relaxing.

We visited Cozumel, Belize and Roatan, and enjoyed all of them. We did a cave tubing excursion in Belize which was excellent and a tour of Roatan which was also lots of fun. We didn't tender in the Cayman Islands because of swells as it could have been dangerous to tender. However, we were refunded some of the port taxes, so had a few more drinks!

The staff on the entire ship always greeted you with a happy hello and were always anxious to help. We never encountered anything less than courteous staff.

Embarkation was also extremely efficient and you could get off the ship as quickly as you wanted to, without any lines.

So, all in all, we had another wonderful Carnival experience and have already booked a cruise on board for next year. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Liberty Interior Riviera 1353

We had an inside cabin on Deck 1 - cabin #1353. It was extremely quiet and we didn't hear noise from any cabin. The cabin was spacious enough and there was lots of storage space.
