Hello all!!! This was my 4th cruise-2nd one out of Galveston and I was not dissapointed :)
Got to lighthouse parking early. I LOVE this place!!!! around $50 for 7 days-includes transportation to the ship and covered/24-7 gated parking :) Super friendly always willing to help as much as they can :) Got in parked our car and headed over to the ship.
Bc we got there early-the lines were SUPER short!!!! Super fast check in with not a lot of comotion. They have gotten better since the last time I went :) Got in the ship got some lunch and explored around :)
Booked a cove balacony-and cant to book another one :)The water was super close and getting off the ship was a complete breeze bc we were on the second floor :) So we could be one of the first ones off at our destination places.
I was really surprised that the ship wasnt over-run with kids!!!! :) My husband and I are newly weds with 2 cats... so that was nice for us :)
Did the 2 elegant nights and did do the dream collection photos. Was a lot of fun and worth the money if your willing to spend it :)
Gym was kinda small for all 4000 people but did have all the things a good gym needs (;
Room service was good-they were always super nice and rememberd our names :) People from the northern lights dining room...not that great. Didnt always get what we asked for and had to do a lot of waiting for our food and for someone to refill our drinks.
Did the Appleton Rum estates in Jamaica... NOT IMPRESSED!!! Everyone was friendly but the 2 hour bus ride there and back was not all that fun. Would not recommend doing it-especially if you have a week stomach. Food that was served was yummy and did learn :) A couple people got sick bc of all the motion on the way back. Not only that but DID NOT feel safe :( Was being followed by people to protect us that were also armed. Heard 2 people got robbed on our ship in Jamica and also a whole tour from another ship. So I think if we are ever able to go again well just stay in port and shop around a little bit :)
Cayman Islands- Flagged down a taxi that took us to 7 mile beach. $10 round trip :) $2 to get onto the beach. $23 for a bucket of 5 beers :) Not bad :) Spend the day there than did a little shopping before the ship left.
Cozumel- Another day of shopping. Took a taxi to the beginning of the shopping strip for around $5 for 2 of us :) and just walked in and out of the stores along the way back. Did stop off at Margaritaville and did a little swimming which you can do w/out having to make a purchase :)
The shows were good and never seemed like we had enough time to do everything you want to do :) If you have young children be advised that there is a LOT of short skirts and a LOT of sexual inuendo.
Lines were never too bad and everything went fairly quickly :) Lots of choices and LOTSSSS of good food (:
