The Carnival Imagination was very nice. It is an older ship (about 8-9 years old) but it was very well taken care of and extremely clean. Our outside cabin was facing aft, so we could see the wake when looking out the window. The cabin steward was extremely nice and very accommodating.
The entertainment was pretty good. . . .2 great production shows and a wonderful and funny cruise director. The two comedians on board were not particularly funny, so we only went to one of their shows. There was no entertainment show on Halloween because we were in port until 10:00pm. They did have a deck party but we didn't stay up for that. I couldn't believe the number of people that dressed up in costumes on Halloween! We did watch the costume parade at 9:00pm and that was entertaining.
The food was pretty good. We ate at the buffet most afternoons and the selection was good. The salad buffet, deli section, pizza, and desserts were all in a separate station from the main buffet line. Also, by the pool they had a grill, rotisserie, and Mongolian Wok. At dinner we ate in the main dinning room and the food was very good and the presentation was great. Service wasn't great on 2 of the nights, but the other two were fine. We chose anytime dining and had different waiters each night. I guess it just depends on who your waiter is. We mentioned it to guest services and they adjusted our gratuity without us even asking. All in all, it was a great 4 night getaway.
