We boarded the Viking Legend in Budapest on Sunday, October 14 and cruised for a week up the danube and extened our tour after disembarking to include 3 days in Prague all arranged through Viking.It was an amazing tour. The sights we saw were fabulous and the service and care we recieved on borad the legend was extraordinary. We were looked after every second of our trip. Catalina, our program director was a delight and David our Conceirge was everywhere. Everyone on boad was pleasant and helpful. The bar crew of Andrew, Filip and Sava were extraordinary. Peter, the on board musician was wonderful. All transfers were handled very, very well.
I was particualry impressed with little things....when we reboarded the ship after a local tour ( all of which were splendid) just exchanging our boarding passes for our room keys was done most expeditiously, never leaving us feeling like cattle ( much as you are made to feel by the airlines). Our room was constantly clean. Each morning when we went to breakfast, we returned to a spotlessly clean room. One time I even forgot something, went back to my room and somehow it had already been cleaned. Their timing was down to the minute with the few exceptions of arriving early once or twice to a destination. We were truly made to feel that, as Catalina would say, the Legend was our home away from home on the Danube, except with much better service.
They handled our transfer to the Prague Hilton, our check in and then our transfer to the airport seamlessly. Much to our surprise, when we reached the airport at Prague, there was the Viking rep smiling and waiting to whisk us through the check in process painlessly. By this time, I was fully expecting a Viking rep to be waiting at our home when we returned with our mail all sorted, refreshments ready and waiting. They really could not have done anything more to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The arranged tours were professional, informative and fun. We met and made many new friends aboard
So well done to Viking and especially the crew and staff of the Legend. We would certainly consider taking another cruise with Viking. You gave us the gift of a wonderful vacation and memories we will cherish forever. Thanks to all aboard and all the staff on land that made our trip truly special.
