Romantic and fun
This was our 2nd cruise with Carnival, and last time we were eager to get aboard but this time waited till late and liked late better. We had no problems with the lines thru security, yes, there was a wait but that was to be expected. We had booked an interior spa room and it was ready when we got there as opposed to having to drag all our carry on stuff all over the ship waiting for the room to be ready. We went to Italian restaurant first night, and that was so-so, as was the rest of the food on the ship. They seem to make everything so bland and of course there were lines for food, but again, 4000 people to feed, so expect it. The only good food was the steak house- VERY worth the extra price!

Our room was on deck 12-spa deck. Interior room, very small, only bed, tiny side table and desk/vanity area, there was no place to just sit and relax except the bed, but plenty of room in the spa areas so we went there often. With a spa room you are entitled to unlimited spa and steam rooms and therapy pool- which was GREAT. Unfortunately, 2 rooms broke for 2 days and while the some people who had purchased spa packages complained and received some money back, we didn't complain. We were also right next to the serenity area-adults only, and that was very relaxing although the entrance to the water slide was at the entrance to the area so lots of kids there.

Husband is a runner and wanted to run on the outdoor track but it is not blocked off in any way and circles the basketball court, mini golf and ropes course, so there are people constantly walking across the track and so he ended up just doing the treadmill with me- which were OK.

We chose to do the Good Hope and estate tour, and while it was educational and relaxing, it seemed to be un-organized. We had a lot of people in our tour and when we had to be transported to another spot we had to wait for a 2nd bus. We did this 3 times and one wait was 20 min, why they didn't just have the 2nd bus wait we didn't understand, and while some where getting very upset, we saw it as a chance to take some extra pictures and look around some more. One thing- take repellent, as our entire group was getting attacked by mosquitoes. The second part of the tour was to go shopping at Rose hall and we only ended up with 30 min there. Save your money- this is one of the most expensive places. The same souvenir items were half the price at the port for exactly the same thing. No expensive jewelery at port though if that is what you want, but save it for the next ports. We also did Discover Mexico and Channakanuba- Discover Mexico was really not worth it to us- just do other- lots of snorkeling and restaurants and shops and shows. Also did Turtles, Turtles- very nice to see the turtle farm and hold them. Snorkeling there is like in a big slimy cement pond. A few fish, very few turtles, and every thing was covered with a slimy algae, but we still decided to laugh about it and ended up having a good time.

We did not go to any shows, but did lots of activities on board-Karaoke is hilarious- the MC more than the singers, he was the best!

Service was what was expected, nothing special, but they were very nice and talkative and answered all questions.

Only real problem we had was the last day at sea we went to brunch and ordered a drink as soon as we sat down. We ordered lunch, ate, and still no drink. 35 min after we ordered he bought my wine, but told hubby couldn't do his order so had to get him something else, so he told him and waiter said he would be right back with the drink. We wanted to wait and see how long it would actually take as we were in no hurry. After 65 min we decided to leave and the waiter was walking into the room with a drink and just handed it to my hubby- wrong drink, but he took it. We complained and they told us they would have the head bartender contact us, but never did.

Overall, we had a good cruise, no real issues and will definitely do it again.
