Disney Service Still the Best!

Sail Date: October 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We walked over to the terminal (5 minutes)from just getting off the Carnival Dream and continuing on the next week with the Disney Fantasy.

What a difference. While we had a great time on the Carnival Dream, nothing compares to the service and quality you expect and get with Disney! From the staff at the Disney Terminal to the bus drivers on the way back to the resort, Disney employees are professional, friendly, helpful and go out of their way to greet and address you at every turn.

The ship was beautiful both inside and out and in top condition. We always travel without children and we met so many adult only families on the Fantasy as well. It's not only for children, but the child inside each adult.

From the complimentary soft drinks to the much appreciated adult only areas, this ship did not disappoint. The calibre of guests on a Disney cruise is much higher than on a Carninval cruise (must be because of the cost). I just felt the trip was more More refined and loved the fact that the crew, officers, staff all looked so professional in their crisp, clean uniforms. It made me feel special and in good hands and I felt pampered at every level.

This was our 7th Disney cruise and I felt that the Disney Fantasy was a little better than her sistership, the Dream. A special thank you to all the pool staff in the adult area only, who made sure that only guests 18 plus were in our special retreat area of the ship.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the adult only entertainment section of the ship was alive with so many guests in the late evening. It made our vacation fun and we made some new friends. Also pleased that Disney paired us up with a couple of tablemates similar in age to us. Cabbanas is still one of the best buffet venues on any ship with the wide selections and quality of food and great dining areas that are not crowded like the ones on the Royal Caribbean ships. Also liked the fact that at the entrance to each and every dining venue, staff made sure each guest took a hand wipe to keep germs and bacteria levels down. Wish they did this on all cruise line ships!

The cabin layouts are also probably the best on any ship, with the split washrooms and the spacious bathtubs and showers. And the bedding, especially the pillows, gave us such restful and comfortable sleeps all week.

We have cruised many times over the last 10 years (21) and Disney by far is hard to beat!

The only thing I would change would be to change the first seating from 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm so we would not have to rush to be ready for dinner. Also the shops are quite expensive and do not have too many items really for sale. It was great that this ship was basically smoke-free! Much appreciated.

This ship was not overrun with children and yes, adults only can enjoy and get to experience the Disney difference. Less

Love St. Martin. Prices are more reasonable than on St. Thomas.
