Thomson Majesty Cruise Review by mad house of cats: Majesty not too bad but beware
Majesty not too bad but beware
Just back from 7 night on Thomson Majesty, after reading the reviews on here, bit dubious, as like so many had booked Destiny then they changed the ship over, we were upgraded to an outside plus, that is just a posh way of saying you have a window, with a bit more space.
Cabin ok larger than Destiny's plenty of room to move about, also plenty of storage space, plus a fridge, and a wet room, so cabin was not bad.
We had been relocated to level 9 (with the move from Destiny) oh my god! we were mid ships, and above us was the 2 pools, Cafe Royal the buffet restaurant, the smoking area, and outside table and chairs.
We did not have an outside party the night we joined because of the weather, thankfully, but we did have one when we left another port late at night, and the party went on from 11pm to 2am and we could hear everything, from all the music, the dancing, the moving of chairs ect., then at 04.30 when we had eventually got some sleep, the waiters More were pushing the crockery trollies across the deck so we were woken with that noise,
There is nothing we could complain about just had to lump it so please do not book level 9 mid ships if you are light sleepers or go to bed before 1-2am every night, we are not early to bed people, but when we do go we want to sleep!
The good points:-
The entertainment in my opinion, was better than P&O's the team put on 3 shows, they were great and they moved around the circular stage so everyone could see most of the show, We also saw a comedian who was good, and a soul singer who got the audiance participating very enjoyable entertainment.
not so good, never hot just luke warm at best, and all because they used trays on top of hot water to keep food hot, which it did not, the cheif special, and the 2 cheifs based outside the Cafe Royal on the open deck, they were always hot as the food was cooked while you waited. Best coffee and tea, was to be had in the royal observatory. The Four Seasons restaurant, was not as crowded (I mean tables as near together) as The Seven Seas but in both the waiters and wine waiters were brilliant. If you are going on Majesty go with an open mind and you will certainly enjoy your holiday. Jean. Less
