2nd Cruise on the Thomson Dream
My wife and i along with my daughter went for the 2nd time on the Thomson Dream cruise ship so what has changed.
Well the first cruise two years ago there was a few problems ie bad smells, ship listing over to portside, fresh water tank split needed welding in Palma and water taps in cabin with no water all are now resolved.
The white lady as the captain calls her seems to be up together at last.
This ship in my opinion is Thomsons best ship it is a classic type cruise ship
and not modern type cruiser with the wow factor.
What should a cruise review be about well everyone seems to mention the crew and how nice and helpful they are and they are in every way.
Some say the food and drink quality is good and it is.
Some say the entertainment and live shows should be good well they are.
Some want know is it good for kids and Thomson are good with kids.
So what are Thomson lacking on this 13 night cruise from Palma Majorca to Santa Cruz More Tenerife well i will tell you decent ports of call and cost effective shore excursions
The ports of call were
Saturday 29th sept Majorca Sunday day at sea. Monday, Gibraltar. Tuesday Casablanca.Wednesday Agadir. Thursday Arrecife Lanzarote. Friday Tenerife
Saturday Gran Canaria Sunday La Palma, Monday Madeira, Tuesday at sea,
Wednesday Agadir, Thursday Arrecife Lanzarote Friday TenerifeWell whats wrong with them i hear you call a majority of them are industrial
ports thats whats wrong with no where to walk to unless you take the risk of getting run over by a fork lift truck or a lorry.
Shuttle buses laid on by Thomson at £5 a head to far apart left standing in hot sun .
Whats happened to the use of tenderboats to drop passengers off at decent ports
i ask my self.
We booked 7 excursions 2 of which were cancelled by the excursions manager who claimed not enough people wanted to go i am not surprised by the prices they charge and no alternative was offered surely they can use crew buses to take a small number of people.
Anyway before this review starts sounding like a rant we all enjoyed our cruise and will try the Thomson Majesty next year.
We had no problem with getting sun beds in fact i saw crew removing towels and belongings off sunbeds that had been left to long.
Bye for now Dado Less
