As is our policy, we flew to Seattle two days before the cruise - and we spent more time waiting in airports than we did flying - oh well.
Both cruises were mostly excellent except for the weather and a couple of other issues (more on the Pearl cruise later).
The staff on the Jewel was super as usual - Ruth our concierge from three cruises on NCL Epic took VERY good care of us - Nelson our butler was the best ever. Roshell and Elizabeth in Cagney's were GREAT - Thomas in Star Bar really good as was Marcia.
Weather iffy - Ketchikan drizzly and overcast - couldn't get into Tracy Arm because of the FOG - Juneau and Skagway kinda cool but OK. Food and Beverage Director was super - as was the food. We ate in Le Bistro, Chin Chin, Blue Lagoon, Cagney's, Tzars Palace and Italian - all were excellent and we love the choices.
The comedian was really funny - dance team spectacular. Overall, entertainment most enjoyable.
Off in Vancouver for a day & night, then onto the NVL Pearl for a Pacific Coastal to Los Angles. Pearl embarkation started rocky bur ended OK. Ballentyne Pier in Vancouver certainly not the best - dismal at best. We were given our cabin key cards - but no photos taken - no cruise docs requested nor was a credit card asked for. However, our concierge Anoop worked things out to our satisfaction.
We were docked in the middle of nowhere in San Francisco - south of the Bay Bridge - LONG walk to buses and nothing in that area of interest. We stayed on board. Good food and entertainment but five days is just not long enough.
Highlight of the cruise was seeing Karen Duffis again. Super lady which we met 2 1/2 years ago on NCL Sun on a cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aires. She took excellent care of us in Blue Lagoon and Mama's. Hugs around.
Overall, very well pleased and we made deposits for two future cruises - next probably Bermuda on the Breakaway in the Haven? - We're hooked on Norwegian because they spoil us.
