Flew to Venice with BA from Gatwick. Quick and easy transfer to the port and on board lunchtime. Our cabin was ready on our arrival so we were able to leave our hand luggage there and go exploring. We ate lunch in the Blue Lagoon (open 24 hrs a day).
Having an aft facing balcony we had some fantastic views of the various ports and over the wake of the ship. Our Cabin Attendant kept it spotless, he was extremely pleasant and helpful. As we do not drink coffee he kindly gave us a kettle instead of the coffee maker.
Breakfast whether in the Grand Pacific or the Blue Lagoon was always served luke warm which was disappointing. We mainly ate lunch in the Blue Lagoon which was ok. We dined early (6pm) and never had to wait to be seated. The meals served in both the Grand Pacific and Alizer were very good and hot. We also ate at Cagneys Steakhouse, Papa's Kitchen and Jasmin. The meals were very good and worth the money.
Cabin quite basic compared to other balcony cabins we have stayed in on other ships but is perfectly adequate. The bathroom is quite small but again adequate. It is in a quite location at the very back of the ship. It can get noisy during the day when the cabins are being cleaned as there is a crew cupboard opposite which contains towels, bedding etc. but there is no noise at night. Only space to store one large suitcase in the closet. Take one smaller than the other so you can store them inside each other. Other than that the cabin is perfectly adequate with hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, shower gel, shampoo, liquid soap. The balcony is great and the view over the wake wonderful.
