Dream Good and bad

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

Flew into Orlando a day early and used TRavelynx to take us to Cocoa Beach. Had a problem with Delta damaging our luggage but when we got outside they were wating for us. Had a van with a trailer for luggage.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn. Nice clean Inn even remodeling the lobby. Short walk to the beach on a nice walkway. Several restaurants within walking distance.

Travelynx picked us up about 10 in a large tour bus and took us to the pier. Was hardly anyone there and were on the ship in 15 minutes or so, used platinum perk.

Dream was a nice ship and we had a cove balcony and loved it. Would do every cruise if available. There didn't seem to be lines at the times we ate. The burrito bar was slow wjth one person there. Main dining room was VERY SLOW. On the first night did not get two things I ordered. Room steward was ok, nothing special. Never did get the gifts in the bathroom. We had no TV until after dinner the first night and never did have any network More stations.

Used luggage express and it worked fine. Travelynx was at the pier and took us to the airport in a nice Mercedes bus.

Dream was kind of what we expected and all in all we had a nice relaxing time. Would do the Dream again, especially a cove cabin. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Dream Balcony Main 2334

Had a cove balcony (2334). Loved the closeness to the water. The life boats above were not an issue at all. They did provide shade most of the time, which was fine as I am not a great sun worshiper. There was a little water on the floor on two mornings but I believe it was from washing the deck above and not spray from the ocean Plenty of room and storage. No problem with noise being next to the elevator. The area to the right was a storage area for luggage carts and such. Did not hear anything from there either. Would do this cabin again.

Port and Shore Excursions

Been to Nassau before and went to Atlantis. Was there for a short time and just got off the ship and walked around the pier area and straw market.

Loved the island, loved the hills. We did a tour with Bernards and it was great. Sugar was our guide and he was informative, funny, and, a great all around guide. The difference between the French and Dutch sides were very different. Went to an iguana area and fed them, then went to an area where a diver went and brought sea urchins and shells out. Went to Orient Beach for 11/2 hours, saw the nude side but went to the other. Lots of sea weed in the water and the vendors were in full force. Then we went to Maho beach t see the planes come in. Very small beach area but the planes were neat. There about 45 minutes. Then went to a shopping area and back to the ship. Very good time and would use the again.

Been to St. Thomas several times so we again just got off and went into town and walked some off the shops.
