Ship Facts: Carnival Imagination Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Imagination Deck Plans
Imagination Needs Overhaul
Carnival Imagination 10/1 -- 10/5. Starting in Miami, going to Key West, Cozumel Mexico and then back to Miami.

Wife and I were in an inside cabin on E deck (Deck 7). A large mix of people from all over the world. This is our third Carnival cruise and we have done 5 other cruises mainly on Celebrity.

FOOD -- Equivalent to Applebee's or sometimes Denny's. We ate most our meals in the main dining room. The 24 hour pizza tasted about the same as grocery store frozen pizza. Overall, the food was, on a scale of 1 to 10, about a 5. I was not impressed at all. Celebrity has much better quality. The anytime dining was great, as it gave us a chance to meet others on the ship.

ENTERTAINMENT -- The two shows we watched were probably a 6 (on a scale of 1 to 10. The singers and dancers were all good, but occasionally you would catch them off key or missing a step.

CABINS -- Our cabin was clean and the stewards were always there to keep it that way. We were disappointed that there was no refrigerator or blow dryer in the room. We found out the last day that we could have requested a blow dryer.

SHIP -- The Imagination is an older ship in need of a remodel. Even the crew told us that they can't wait until the ship gets remodeled. We found the decor ugly and in need of modernization.

INTERNET -- 45 minutes for $29 is not that good for slow internet. Barely fast enough to check your email. We are currently on the same ship to the Bahamas and this chartered cruise has free internet. The speed is 7 times faster. About the speed of DSL, fast enough to surf the web and have multiple windows going at the same time. This means that Carnival purposely turns the speed down to make more money with their Internet. The slower the speed the longer it takes you and the more you spend on minutes. Not good Carnival!!!!

ACTIVITIES -- Pretty standard, trivia, newlywed game, and such. Just not enough. Hardly saw the cruise director at all. Should have had more activities.

SUMMARY - I would avoid the Imagination until it is overhauled. You will have much better food, cabins, and entertainment going on Royal Carib. or Celebrity.
