In some ways we were positively surprised by the Oasis. The embarkation was the easiest we have ever had. The quality of the food, entertainment, and overall service in the dining room and our steward was some of the best we have ever had. The ship did not feel as though it had over 5K passengers. However, it is a very big ship with many things to do but with a lot of people and not many places where you could go to have a nice chat with a few new friends. We enjoy walking and setting in chairs on the promenade deck and watching the ocean go by. You can not do that on the Oasis as the life boats hang over the side of this deck and it is used for a jogging track. If you have to go up to the deck above the pool deck if you want to sit and watch the ocean go by, but then you are in the sun so you can't stay there to long. Getting off was a complete joke. The feds decided to do some sort of annual audit checking everyone on the passenger list to their passports, visas, and luggage. We were supposed to be off at 8:30 but it was after 11:00 before we finally got off. There were still a lot of people stuck on the ship when we got off and there were all those people trying to get on. I have never heard of such a thing but we were told this is just a random thing they do once a year. All in all we enjoyed it and we are glad we took it BUT we won't be booking on the Oasis or the Allure again. I can see where people can really enjoy it but it just isn't the overall cruise experience that we look forward to.

Cabin review: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We were in a D5 outside cabin with a balcony mid ship on deck 11. The cabin was OK but smaller, with smaller closet space and fewer drawers than many similar cabin types we have had on other cruise ships. The bed was not vary good either.

Port and Shore Excursions

The Atlantis is a fun place with lots to do and see from beaches to slot machines. It is an easy and inexpensive cab ride.

One of our favorite places. Great shopping, great beaches, nice people, and just a fun place to go, both the French side and the Dutch.

Great shopping and nice beaches. If you like the beach and/or snorkeling , I suggest go over to St Johns to the national underwater park. Megan's beach we found to be very crowded and not as nice as advertised in a previous visit. While a Caribbean Island it is still very Americanized.
