This was our 6th cruise, 4th with Thomson.
Transfer from Marmaris much better since new road built.
Sailaway delayed until 1am due to late arrivals.
Fist impressions, not overwhelmed by ship. Had booked a suite, IMHO not worth the extra money, Bed very hard, mattress very thin. Fond it difficult to sleep due to hard bed and vibration which appeared to be under our bed! Slept on sofa quite a few nights!
Food, 1st week not to bad in Meridian, although portions small and always felt rushed by waiting staff,DH had a plate removed before finishing! 2nd week, quality much worse. There was a massive change of crew for 2nd week, which could explain why.
Mistral's tried once, Lobster inedible, tough and chewy and bland, Steak very tough, not sure what the vegetables were as no taste and undercooked.
We sent it back, the chef then came to our table and was quite menacing that we dared to send it back!
Lido, hit and miss with quality and temperature of food, usually ate More there for breakfast, tried meridian once for breakfast, had eggs Benedict- awful!
Excursions ( reason why we booked) were great, really enjoyed Jerusalem and Istanbul.
Deck space, really cramped at back of ship, frequently covered in soot!
Furnishings around ship very tatty sun beds filthy, never cleaned!
Entertainment- as usual for Thomson's excellent, however tad repetitive in house jokes 2nd week.
Ambiance of ship overall, good 1st week, not so good 2nd week, again this could be due to crew replacement.
We met some lovely people staff and guests during our stay, but the ship really is struggling now.
The refurb is due next month, Above and below with the smallest hint they may add balconies to some suites.I honestly dont know how they will be able to stop the vibration which is very noticeable in all areas.
I dont think we Will return to the celebration, we will see how the refurb goes! Less
