This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise and my wife and I brought our 1-year old daughter and my in-laws. It was their first cruise in 20+ years. After a week on Freedom of the Seas, everyone can't wait to do it again. The ship was beautiful, the food was outstanding, the shows (except 1) were great, and we didn't even have enough time to see a third of the ship. Our only complaint about the ship was the pool policy. Our 1 year old swims with us in the pools in our town and we love taking her in the pool with us. Despite the great pool experience for kids, we didn't know that they would not let us take our baby in the pools with us, even with special swim diapers. They had a TINY baby pool with only 6" of water in it for her and no shade. That was the only negative. We can't say enough about the quality of the food and the service from our waiters (Ronald and Desmond). The shows were top-notch (except the magic show -- which was NOT great). We loved the surf-rider. The staterooms were larger and more comfortable than we expected. We were very pleased by the "Royal Babies" club they had for our daughter. One thing to note, we did run into some problems with taking our baby on excursions. Without going into detail here, I will just say that the post-cruise customer service did an excellent job handling our complaints about the excursions after the fact. I would not recommend taking a baby on any excursions though, even if they are allowed to go.

Cabin review: Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Port and Shore Excursions

Amazing Cozumel Race
It was fun but it was too hot in early September for running around downtown and there wasn't enough time in water. This was advertised as being for all ages. Do not bring a baby the way we did! It should have been advertised as age 5+. Be aware that you will be spending your time downtown and not doing much swimming.
Port
Could have skipped Falmouth. Long bus ride to our excursion (Dunns River Falls). Climbing the falls was fun. Everything else was boring. Lots of nice guides but each one has their hand out. (To be expected?)

We loved Labadee and the frozen drink served there (the Labadoozie!). We upgraded to an over-the-water cabana and highly recommend that. The complimentary lunch buffet was terrific. Swimming was gentle but there wasn't much to see snorkeling (unless you go on an excursion I guess -- we didn't).
