Second time on Oasis

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We sailed on Oasis of the Seas 9/15/12 for the second time. We are two middle aged women . This cruise did not disappoint and we actually enjoyed the second time more than the first. I think that is because we were familiar with the ship, met wonderful people, and loved the ports.

With our new gold status we found no one in line so we got our sea passes very quickly and were ready to board at 10:30. We were on the ship at 11:15! Rooms ready at 1 and luggage at 3.

We bought the Central Park dining package which was a wonderful deal and recommended it to a few people we met who also bought and loved it. We had to dine at Giovanni's Table the first night and then reserve Chops and 150 Central once on the ship. We had no problem making reservations because we did it as soon as we boarded.

Giovanni's was wonderful! We also had the wine package and the sticker indicating the package was not put on our sea pass when we embarked. Our waiter actually took our passes to More Guest Services while we dined, and got us the sticker. We had dined at 150 Central last year and actually liked the menu then better and would probably not dine there again. Two nights we had the tapas at Vintages and they were awesome! This year we tried Solarium Bistro. We had stayed away last year because we thought the food would be tasteless since it is 500 calories or less. We were very wrong! The food was awesome! Who would think that a no fat cheesecake could be so good??? Unfortunately, many others felt as we did last year as there was no one there. Chops was our last night and had it been earlier in the week, we would have dined there again.

The second day, room service delivered the wrong breakfast. We just called and requested the correct one. They were there in 10 minutes! Everyday after that, we got some kind of treat from room service. We had chocolate covered strawberries, fruit plate, red velvet cupcakes, and gorgeous cookies. What wonderful customer service!

Loved the ports! Labadee was just beautiful! We did the Chukka Beach Break with lunch in Jamaica and the beach/facilities were lovely. Our main complaint was that lunch was not served until after 1 PM. Would have preferred to do the one without lunch but that was sold out. They also told us the vans to return to the ship would run every half hour. Not the case when we asked to leave and were told it would be an hour til the next one. Once they realized this did not make us happy and a few others came up wanting to leave, they called a van and it was there in 15 minutes. Cozumel was beautiful! We did the Passion Island trip and it was fabulous! The catamaran was the way to go, water so aqua and warm. Next time we may go on the Twister as everyone said how amazing that was! The facilities were beautiful, sand powdery and white, and food was good. The drinks flowed freely LOL!

Once again, we walked around all week asking where the 6000 people were! No problem getting beach chairs, once in a while there was a wait for an elevator so then we took the steps, and embarkation was quick (unfortunately!)

We, who were not going to be habitual cruisers, plan on going again next year but maybe trying Allure! A wonderful vacation and I highly recommend Oasis!! Less
