This was my first cruise, so my observations are against other types of vacations, as opposed to other cruises.

I'll state up front that we ran into passenger difficulty on this cruise, so didn't actually make it to our last scheduled port of call (Aruba) but they sent us to St. Maarten instead, which was just as beautiful.

The Destiny is a graceful lady. She's decorated mostly in copper wall panels and peach/blue rugs. While I did notice a few things you can blame on her age, the crew kept her up incredibly well. The only real complaint I have about the ship - which isn't something that can be changed - is the fact that most of the decks don't go all the way through. There are a few levels where you'll exit the elevator into a corridor with nothing but stairs. Ack. Making it from the front of the ship to the Universe dining room (all the way in the back) was sometimes a challenge! I'm pretty sure that I could have figured out all the shortest ways to get around if I'd taken the time to do it - but I was distracted by all the other cool things going on.
