Cruising into 30 years of Magical Love

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Galveston

When deciding how to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary it was not very hard to agree on a romantic cruise aboard the Carnival Magic. Our seven day cruise took us into three of the most beautiful Caribbean port of calls, Isla of Roatan, Belize and Cozumel but it was the Carnival Magic that was the crown jewel on this romantic vacation.
From the first step aboard this ship we felt the magic, pardon the pun, entering into the sparkling atrium it was apparent the Carnival designers outdid themselves when they built the Magic.
The color scheme flowed throughout the ship with incredible lights and paintings, the Magic Hat Casino glistened like polished black marble. The food selection was great from deli sandwiches to prime rib, the pizza and hamburgers were only beat by the Oceanside BBQ where they featured mini hamburgers called 'sliders' chicken tacos and quesadillas.
The entertainment venue covered a broad spectrum from the hairy chest contest at poolside More to Las Vegas caliber shows in the Showtime Theatre. The alcohol flowed freely among many of our fellow passengers but we witnessed zero altercations yet a lot of laughter and fun even if we were spectators.
Did we enjoy our Carnival cruise aboard the Magic? Well we have already booked our next Carnival cruise in April 2013. If you want to escape the world we highly recommend you choose Carnival as they whisk you away into tropical paradise aboard the Magic. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Magic Balcony Main 2325

This was our first time in a cove balcony and it was awesome. You are only twenty feet off the water so you can hear the waves swoon you to sleep if you prop your deck door open. The cove balcony is a keeper.

Port and Shore Excursions

We never went into Belize ywt we spent the day on the private island called Bannister Island. You could literally see all the way around this island of sand filled with palm trees and man made tiki huts, a bar, gift shop, restrooms, showers and yes a kitchen that prepared for us a fantastic grilled BBQ chicken lunch. The water was beautiful, the sun was warm and the staff was great, this is a great escape from the crowds.

Beach Break

This is where they filmed the Corona beer commercials so the beach was amazing but the staff was pushy trying to sell you stuff and the food was not very good, we have no passion to return to Passion Island.

We took advantage of a very relaxing day on Mahogany Beach and never regretted a moment. Riding the ski lift over the lagoon arriving to the beach was a really relaxing experience we recommend. The covered beach chairs turned out to be wind breaks too hot to sit under so we relocated to new open chairs under a palm tree at the water's edge and it was amazing. Of all we did this day on Mahogany Beach the favorite moment for us was enjoying Caribbean Jerk Chicken made right there on the beach, this is a must you have to try if you ever go to Mahogany Beach.
