W. Caribbean, Sale Date 9/17 Out of Galveston

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Galveston

As a first time cruiser with about 18 other 2nd and 3rd time cruisers, I had a great time aboard the Carnival ship Magic.
I read through all these reviews before I boarded the ship. I found most all of them to be true,
however even some of the issues with the ship did not bother me as I found aways around them...
Main issues seems to be two small pools and fake eggs......
First of all, I did not come on the ship for the pool, however there were many jacuzzis and excursions to resorts if you wanted to do that.....in which we did do the day pass excursion to Aura Adult Resort on Cozumel. Great place and will come back on a trip inclusively there....

If you do not like the fake scrambled eggs, stand in the short line for fresh served up omelets.

Many bonuses on this trip.....
The steakhouse, in which you pay for, was well worth the 70.00 US dollars. That included many options such as lobster and steak or a big old prime but 18 oz More ribeye...

The Italian restaurant was about $12.00 a person but it, like the steakhouse, it all your care to eat.....

All the attendants, in our room or aboard the whole ship always had a smile and were eager to help....

Embarkation was no problem but here is a great pointer on disembarkation.....there are two options....
Self serve : which means you take your own bags off and that gets you a way earlier disembarkation than option 2...
Assist serve - means you place your bags out the night before you leave the ship and your called by a zone number which can reach up to zone 15....of which we were( My compadres did the self serve option and left the ship by 7am, we did the opposite and left at 11am.......
All in all for a first time cruiser the ship was fine and remember no matter what the ship, you can not change the people.....some very rude and impatient but overall really nice...... Less

Cabin review: Carnival Magic Balcony Main 2293

Deck 2, cabin 2293. Lower balcony deck, noticed much less swaying of the boat than our friends on the upper decks 7-9 Great location with no one or room above you. Great to see the ocean and ports.

Port and Shore Excursions

Took a Carnival excursion to Xunantunic Mayan Temple in San Ignacio, Belize. Long trip but worth every penny....this is a once in a lifetime "must do" Guide stated they were not sure how much longer the park is going to allow guest up to the very top of the ruins.......thats the best part of the trip....

Beach Break

(5)
Again, chartered through out travel agent a day pass to Aura Adult Resort and Spa... Great resort, service for a day passer, and location.....

Took a private catamaran out to snorkel. This was chartered through out travel agent and not Carnival. Great captain and snorkeling...
