Mediterranean medley

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Other

We flew from Exeter on time and arrived on board the dream by 14.00. Great flight with plenty of legroom. Bit of a wait for luggage but Palma airport is always very busy!
As usual embarkation was quick and efficient. We went for lunch and a few drinks. We decided not to go in to Palma as it was raining. We went to unpack our luggage which arrived very quickly. We know the dream so had booked an outside plus cabin which is more spacious and has a big picture window.
The cabins are due for an update this year which is well overdue but they are comfortable & clean & looked after very well.
We used the Orion restaurant for dinner and it felt like going home as Jessie our waiter on our last cruise in February was still there . Service & food are second to none. We used the Grill a la carte on one evening & again the food is fabulous &well worth the £20 cover charge. We always have the all inclusive drinks package which is worth the extra if you consume 8 or more drinks More a day.
Entertainment is very good the on board team put on a different show every night and they are very professional. Dream vibe the resident band are also excellent. We enjoyed the sail away party the atmosphere is always great.
Our first day was at sea and the weather was very rough a lot of people including myself were ill. But I managed to make the Captains cocktail party by dosing myself up !!! It's nice to see everyone dressed up and to have your photograph taken.
If you do not like the formality th Lido restaurant is a less formal way of dining and the food here is good with a very large choice.
Our ports of call were good. Corsica,Livorno,Cannes,Toulon & Barcelona .We took the trip to Florence & it was spectacular. We also took the trip to Cassis from Toulon which was breathtaking.
Barcelona is worthy of a longer stay but we managed Park Guell. Sagrada Famalia & La Rambla.
For us the Thomson boats are not the most spectacular but the customer service from the crew is second to none and we feel very at home on them. The captains daily speech is hilarious and quirky and he is very fond of his " proud white lady ".
We have booked again for next summer a 2 week cruise on the celebration to the Crimea & Egypt & the holy land . Can't wait !!! Less

Cabin review: Thomson Dream 625

Good size cabin. A little dated now. Would be nice to have flat screen tv which would take up less space on dressing table. Tea & coffee facilities needed. Bathroom small but ok, needs refurb. Cabin kept very clean . Bed very comfortable. Quiet area. Great view from picture window with no obstruction.
